Amphibian Tracker

With the help of researchers and citizen scientists throughout the eastern United States, we track the annual migration of spotted salamanders, wood frogs, and spring peepers to their breeding ponds. We ask folks who see these amphibians in their community to share their observations with us via email or through the form below. The data we collect is uploaded to a Google map and color-coded by date to show overall trends in the timing of migration, and allows us to examine what environmental factors might trigger migration events - for example, temperature and precipitation.
